Balancing Act

In this, the third and last photo from our trip to Capitol Lake this past weekend, these three were having a blast practicing walking the tight-rope (or ratcheting strap). They were actually quite good. Shortly after taking this pic he proceeded to do a hand stand on it. Besides the fact the colors in this photo really appealed to me, it looked like their secret to fun on a Sunday was one strap, two trees & most of all three friends.

  1. This reminds me of how much I loved the circus way back when. The blue waters just jump out in this photo.

  2. You have a real gem here, and not just because of the jewel-like colors. There's action and togetherness--it's a fine photo.

I have to recommend the Bijou Cafe if you need to eat breakfast between 7 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday. And 3 Doors Down Cafe for dinner on Saturday. That's where my son Lamont is sous chef. Both can easily be located using Google.

Have a blast in Portland. I look forward to your photos!

  3. I guess fun is easy as one-two-three. You got the equation right on.
    Pretty shot. MB

  4. Don't you wish all kids would find their fun outdoors again? Instead of computers and game consoles.

Wonderful image and even lovelier commentary.

  5. I like the colors too, especially the water! I think it would be as much fun to watch this activity as it would be to participate. Great shot!

  6. Thanks everyone, I appreciate the kind comments. I sure don't take credit on this one. The three in the picture are what make it.

Lynette: Thanks for the hints. That was nice.

  7. Not an easy thing to do, balance on a rope. I like your photo of it. And, the other hard thing to do is ride a unicycle. I grew up with a kid who had one and he rode it, more or less, like we rode regular bikes. He is still alive, retired in Florida but not sure if he still has his old unicycle bike.
