Canned Fish

Having been a little busy this evening, I dug way back into the archives to last summer. We were in Tacoma for the day. We had gone to Pt Defiance Park to see and photograph the rose and dahlia gardens. Afterward we headed for downtown Tacoma to the Broadway Plaza. As we were walking along we turned the corner and spotted this handsome devil made from Bud Light cans basking in the sun and enjoying a splash.
Alternate title could have been "Fish on a Steek"

  1. Beautiful fish! I'm glad you dug this one out of the archives :) Thanks for the comment on Astoria. We do have a few buildings and shops that go underground, but it's not a whole tour you can take like in Seattle. I've heard of that and I'd love to do it sometime.

  3. Fantastic! I would never have thought it was made of beer cans. Very well made, and a wonderful way to recycle! Love the splooshy fountain too. Everything looks great!

  5. The fish looks like it has been harpooned with a big metal stake in its body.

  6. From Bud Lite cans? No!!?? I can just imagine the artist consuming all the content to complete this cool fish. That must have been a fun art studio.

  10. Frank: I never really thought of it like that. I do wonder how long it took to complete. Drink one, put one on. Drink another one, put another one on......

  11. Ahh, still another clever use for empty Bud Light cans. I've tasted beer can chicken, seen cans used in fashion, as shingles and siding...and now Salmon art.
