Brick House

House of the Lord that is. This is not a religious post of any kind. Quite the opposite actually. I appreciate architecture that is pleasing to the eye. Whenever I drive past the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church my eyes can't help but look. If you do decide to follow the above link, two areas I would suggest you check out are "Us & Our Church/The History of Our Church" and "Our Pipe Organ".

  1. It is more than enough to turn any head. Nice looking church and imagine that stained glass.

  2. I'm trying to decide whether I like this or not. Not your photo. That I like; it's very well done. The architecture of the church...certainly is striking and eye-catching...but...in the end, nah...

Yes, we both posted churches today but what the hell...great minds, remember?

And re: your first three sentences in this post. Right on!

    Have a great day! :-)

  3. Sunday is a good day to post church pictures, whether one is snapping for the message inside or the architecture outside, or both!!!

We've been posting some type of religious picture every Sunday and there is quite a little following. I found you through Jacob's Sunday post! If I had more energy and time, I'd start a "Sacred Sunday" meme. Great capture, that stunning sky would have been perfect for Sky Watch Friday!

  4. Abe: Like it or not, it is different.

Jacob: Thanks for the compliment on the photo. I too have seen churches who's design I liked even more. Yep, great minds think alike!

Greensboro: I agree, Sunday is the perfect time to have such a theme. With the impending rain last night, we did grab a few more sky shots. We'll be posting one this next week. Thank you for stopping by. I'll be checking your blog out today.

  5. Another untraditional looking church! I like it. I'll bet that stained glass window looks good from the inside too. I'll have to check out the pipe organ.

  6. The Lutherans seem to have very austere taste.
