Floral Friday - It's a Dandy

First of all I wanted to let you all know that yesterday was my lovely wife's birthday. I won't whisper her age, that would only get me hurt. She had a wonderful day, and I believe one of the best birthdays she has had in some time.
Also, I want to thank those of you that followed my "Cider Sunday" series this past week. We had a great time going, and couldn't wait to share at least a part of it with all of you. For today's post I thought I'd turn our attention to one of the most under-appreciated flowers, the dandelion. We pass them by all the time, writing them off as a nuisance, just a weed. Maybe, but I thought I would make it my contribution to Floral Friday.

  1. Excellent contribution. My friend calls then Meadow Daisys. In the early Spring my side yard is ablaze in their golden glory. Very pretty. MB

  2. Well, thanks for this! I'd never have known it was a dandelion although I though it looked familiar!

Wonderful shot of something I probably wouldn't even have looked at!

  3. It's a beautiful shot of a beautiful flower! They like to live in my yard and my grandkids love to pick them. Glad to hear your wife had such a nice birthday!

  4. It is a pretty flower and not unlike some we had this past summer. I am afraid they are all gone now. We saw a hummingbird here last evening at dark and it was getting some nourishment from a few flowers left on a butterfly bush. I hope he went on south a bit as it is getting colder here and the flowers are becoming a thing of the past.

  5. After several days of not being able to read my favorite blogs, I'm finally catching up.

A very belated happy birthday to Krise! I hope she had a wonderful day and I pray God bless her with more beautiful and happy years with you and your lovely children.

I'm so sorry to hear about Kay. That was awful and I hope her ex-boyfriend gets a heavy punishment for it!

I am so heartened that your community all came by to show support to Carolyn and her family. I'm glad for me too, because her shop is so charming!
