I love those old brick buildings. Glad it's still there and hasn't been torn down. I wonder, though, how it would fare in a quake...I know there are some faults running through your area. We still have a lot of old brick buildings too; don't know how long they'll last. Hope you're having nice skies! We had awesome cloud formations today...too late for skywatch Friday though!
Small City Scenes: Laying on the ground? In downtown? Yechh no! I was down on one knee though. :-)
Jacob: It's a pretty neat old building. On the far end there is a really good little restaurant that Krise and I went to on Saturday night for dinner. We're going back soon and I'm taking my camera.
brian stout: We thought so too.
cieldequimper: Thank you. That's what I was trying for.
tapirgal: Thank you. It's funny, the clouds were barely visible in the photo before I started playing with it.
Linnea W: As far as earthquakes I'm not sure. We had a pretty good rumbler back in 2001. Some buildings have been upgraded since then. I don't know if this is one or not.
Hilda: Thank you Hilda. When I shot this the sky was so bright the building was almost black. I first enhanced it in iPhoto. Then a little touch of antique. Thosemade the biggest changes. Then I went into Picnik, sharpened it just a bit, added a little sepia and stopped.
Super shot---were you laying on the ground? LOL
ReplyDeleteThe clouds lately have been so different. I really like clouds. MB
One needs to embiggen this photo to get a real sense of the age of this building. Lot of stories the old Olympian Hotel could tell, dontcha think?
ReplyDeleteNice to see that it has been preserved and not turned into a jumble of old bricks!
cool old building!
ReplyDeleteThe photo somehow enhances the "old" feel to it.
ReplyDeleteImagine that . . . you also have clouds??? It is a very cool building, and as ciel says, the photo makes it look very old (in a good way).

ReplyDeleteDid you do something with the photo? It looks wonderfully historic too. I love the effect!

Love the sepia toned effect you created. Complements the aged building and the bare trees perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI had to take a short hiatus from 'blog commenting' lately, but I sure did appreciate your steady, daily stream of affirmation. Thanks.
