After looking at this a little closer maybe I should have called this one Beauty and the Beast. The year must have been 1974 or 1975. I would have been a senior in high school, and since I was taking photography at the time I don't think I left the house without my trusty Yashica TL Electro X. What was my other hand holding onto? Why my absolutely adorable niece, that's who. I can tell you that this shot was taken in Olympia at the Legislative Building. Why walk down the steps when you can be a kid and go down the ramp instead? It would have been my Mom or Dad taking this shot. We were on the way to see my niece's daddy who at the time worked for The Department of Transportation in Olympia. Oh, and my niece.....she's married and has kids of her own now.

Don, that's a cool photo ... you almost look like one of the Beetles LOL!! This is also the first time I've run across the "Whensday" series ... that's kinda fun!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo, and how appropriate for you to have your camera in hand!! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute picture! I love her little knee socks.
ReplyDeleteLol, that fashion! My Dad had a Yashica in those days.
ReplyDeleteVery cute photo.
AAAWWWWWWW! That's so sweeet! You climbed up there on the wall to walk her down so she wouldn't fall & hurt herself! That's sooo sweeet - Especially for a boy that age - Won't find many kids like that anymore
ReplyDeleteVery cute. I think it should be called "Beauty and the best!"
ReplyDeleteHmmm, you were a pretty good-looking young man. And your niece is just adorable! I hope her children are just as cute.
ReplyDeleteEven now, I would much rather take the ramp. :)
Funny that hairstyle is totally in style these days with young men! Funny how trends keep coming around!
ReplyDeletethat is an 'aw shucks' photo for sure.
ReplyDeleteI wondered where 'Whensday' went. MB
