This afternoon my wife and I were on our way home when we spotted a carnival at one of the local malls. In half a second my pregnant wife connected the dots. Carnival equals elephant ears. Yep, the craving had kicked in. I took the next exit off the freeway and circled around, then found a place to park. We really felt sorry for the workers. It was raining pretty good and besides us there were probably only around three or four other people there. I guess some were taking advantage of slow times. It appeared in this shot as if one worker was training the other on how to operate this particular ride. After walking around the whole place we figured out there were no elephant ears, (which equals unhappy pregnant wife) so off we went.

Pregnant wife, how absolutely wonderful. Congrats galore! Super photo, too.
Uh-OH! Better check the local bakeries -:) I imagine the fresh air did you both good, though! LOL!!
The answer to your question, btw, will be on tomorrow's blog post.
Too bad it was raining, it looks fun otherwise.
I had to look up elephant ears. Now I'm hungry!
Oh, and Krise sounds like she needs a little more fat and carbs in her diet. ;)
At least you tried. Always best to satisfy the pregnant wife. I hope you don't have to wait until Fair time. You will probably have the baby by then. MB
Oh.. sorry you only found bored carnies in the rain... :( Fun to get a shot like this without anyone in it.
Funny post! It would appear this was the only ride and the place was deserted.
Seems to me, also, that you could have found some elephant ears somewhere in Olympia. No?
An unhappy pregnant wife is not somebody to fool with! ;-))
There was a carnival going on in the parking lot of one of the malls here too! Sorry Krise didn't get her elephant ears. We actually have a restaurant here that has elephant ears on the menu. The name of the restaurant is The Red Elephant!
This is a neat post. Elephant ears are good whether one is pregnant or not. LOL
Did you find a substitute?
Thanks everyone.
Lynette: Thank you.
Chuck Pefley: The fresh air was nice, but boy, she was not happy about the elephant ears!
Hilda: You could actually make them at home if you wanted.
Small City Scenes: There's actually a place in another local mall that serves them. I'll take her there in a day or two.
Yolanda: We really felt bad for them. Standing out there in the rain without a single person wanting to ride anything.
Jacob: There were other rides there. I'll show you another one tomorrow.
Lois: So you know what they are. They certainly satisfy the sweet tooth.
Abraham: AMEN!
cieldequimper: Yep, a big ol' cinnamon roll.
I hate those rides, but it's always amusing to look. As it turns out, they make fun photos :)
