Taken on our recent outing to The McLane Creek Nature Trail, I felt lucky that this beautiful Red Winged Blackbird held still long enough for me to take his portrait.
I doubt if my eye's good enough to spot birds, but I know I'm going to enjoy the many parks around the Toronto area. We're staying in one of the suburbs, and it is sooo different from Manila. It's the little things that get me: fir trees, maples, dandelion, geese! Then there's the wide open spaces — wow. (I'm waiting for my husband to get dressed so we can go out and commandeered his laptop.)
I've never seen a blackbird with red! Ours are... black with an orange beak!!!
ReplyDeleteI love bird photos but never can seem to get close enough before they fly away :)
ReplyDeleteJust excellent, Don. We've seen lots of these here, too, but I've not been able to get a photo of one!
ReplyDeleteRe your comment on Ocala DP - Are you and Brattcat criticizing the sartorial splendor of Ocala's residents?
It's so darn hot you're lucky we wear any clothes at all!
;-))
Perfect catch for Ruby Tuesday. MB
ReplyDeleteBeautiful red wing. I don't have a good luck in taking bird portrait ^_^
ReplyDeleteRuby Red Tuesday
He's gorgeous! I've seen a few here and they do move fast.
ReplyDeleteThat red is very striking against his black!
