I thought this photo would express how we feel around here lately. We had such a wonderful warm summer that lasted longer than usual. Then when the weather turned, it turned all at once. Wind, rain, gray skies all day long. It seems like we ticked off Mother Nature. As I was leaving work this evening and heading to my car I spotted this. Blue skies on one side, dark clouds on the other. I don't know how much good the barbed wire is going to do to stop those clouds from rolling on in, but I did think this would qualify for my SkyWatch Friday shot.

Beautiful and lovely shot!!
ReplyDeleteAfter the storm... Betty Boop sees blue skies through menacing barbed wire!
ReplyDeleteThose clouds do look stormy, lov ethe look and thanks for sharing your skies.
ReplyDeleteLast night or rather early evening the skies were crazy. You shot is beautiful and what crazy barbed wire. MB
ReplyDeleteHmmm...excellent skywatch shot...a photo of strong conflictions (I know, that's not a word, but it fits here)...I can see the blue sky, perhaps signifying hope...but the barbed wire as shown reminds me of so many pictures of the Holocaust...
ReplyDeleteLike I said, conflictions!
Have a great day!
The sky is fantastic. The barbed wire really adds an artistic element. Maybe it won't stop the yukky weather, but it could be a symbol of how that weather feels.
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of a rollercoaster...your weather can't make up its mind! Still sunny and warm down here! I'll trade you weather...
ReplyDeleteUnseen Rajasthan: Thank you as always.
ReplyDeletecieldequimper: I thought I saw Betty looking our way.
eileeninmd: Thank you for stopping by also.
Small City Scenes: That's how my wife keeps me in the yard. ;-}
Jacob: Conflictions can be a word just cuz you said so, and you're right it does fit.
You have a great weekend too.
Louise: Thank you very much. The fencing shows up much better in the photo thank it does in person.
Lennea W: I'm not so sure you'd want to trade. We're pretty used to it up here.
In the yard huh? We'll just see about that. Nice pic.
ReplyDeleteMy apologies. Abraham Lincoln's Blog is now taking comments.
ReplyDeleteI like this shot. It looks like it would being in side of a prison.
I can understand that feeling. Grey skies for a few days over here as well.
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful SkyWatch!
ReplyDeleteBarbed wire and storm clouds - very ominous. And it makes for a good atmospheric photo.
ReplyDeleteHello. I found you through Sky Watch Friday. Enjoyed this photo--definitely ominous. Also enjoyed visiting the Floral Friday blog but couldn't figure out how to leave a comment over there without having to provide a link.
ReplyDeleteNice colors, and I love the barbed wire looping through it. I somehow missed this one in October :)
