While driving through downtown one of the things you would have a hard time missing is this huge mural on the side of the Labor Temple. This is The Olympia Rafah Mural Project. It was created after the death of a young local woman in Gaza. I'm showing you this mural not to make any political statement whatsoever, but merely to show you another piece of what makes Olympia the city it is. If, however you would like to read a little more about this wall and what it represents click here.

Well there is another thing to put on my list. Whew, I'm going to be busy.
Yes, things do come in 3s--so I should be ok now. MB
hi Don and Krise, great murales! like this art so much! great blog!
ciao, Luis
That building artwork looks great to me and shows that somebody has a creative mind. I would say the owner of the truck is moving in the same direction. He has a lot on his plate too.
It was a glorious day yesterday. Nothing much to do but shoot some pictures into the sunshine of birds that landed outside my window. Then the disaster at Fort Hood took over and I spent the rest of the time in the chair watching the news. I just read this morning, the gunman was not killed. Just shot 4 times by a lady (first responder). That might be for hype but it sounds good to me.
It certainly is interesting.
Big and colourful and inspired by Rachel Corrie, a name I will not forget. As American politicians have let Palestinians be bombed, bulldozed and starved with impunity, at least some Americans sought justice, to the point of giving up their lives.
Fantastic, artsy wall which is a great visual addition to your city!
One really has to embiggen this to get the full impact. It is very striking and very well done and certainly must garner a lot of attention.
I didn't read any more about it, though...
Peace! Have a great weekend!
That is so beautiful and colorful and the truck parked there in front of it is pretty nice too!
Oh I absolutely love this. It's great! I love the cars parked in front too and the glimpse of the street. Have a great weekend!
Thank you everyone. Like it or not, this is something the people that painted this are passionate about. I have to give them credit for creating a piece of art that definitely gets your attention.
Here's hoping everybody has a wonderful weekend!
This is amazing! Furthermore as I have been to Rafah several times, had a business across Israel, Jordan and Egypt, Rafah was the easy border crossing for me.
I liked it immediately, and after reading the write-up you linked to, I like it even more!
