Tonight, one of my favorite flowers,
Trillium. Found in wooded, shaded areas this three petaled, three leafed wonder is fairly common in the Pacific Northwest. Most of the Trillium you find in the wild are white. I was lucky enough to once have a yellow one. They're not quite as easy to find. These two were a few yards off the
Chehalis Western Trail while we were on a bike ride.

My wife and I both work on Saturdays. Today when we came home our daughter asked if we could all go on a bike ride. No problem we said. Earlier this summer my wife got
a new set of wheels. A couple of months ago she ordered a sturdy basket so that our French Bulldog
Otis could go with us. We loaded up the bikes, kids and the dog and headed for the Chehalis Western Trail. We put Otis in the basket and secured him in place just in case he decided to jump out. My wife took off and it didn't take long before he looked like Joe Cool, cruising down the trail with the wind blowing through his wrinkles. After putting on a few miles we headed back for the truck. We lifted him out of the basket and set him down. You should have seen him strutting around. Boy was he proud of himself. It was pretty darned cute.

For tonight's post I dug into the deep dark archives to pull this one out. Some time back I was on a bike ride on the
Chehalis Western Trail. It was a pretty warm day, probably in the mid 80's. I stopped to take in some water and look around. When I looked up this is what I saw.

Well, little did my wife know at the beginning of the day that she was going to end up with a new bike. She picked out this sexy machine made by Giant. Nice for crusin'. Being such a beautiful day we loaded it up along with mine and headed for the Chehalis Western Trail. We managed to put on about ten miles. A nice way to finish off the weekend.
Oh and ladies, be sure to check out the ultra cool pink water bottle holder. ;)

Here is another shot from yesterday's walk on the Chehalis Western Trail. Whenever you see a hollowed out stump like this one you know you have to go look inside. Of course I was elected to go see what scary thing might be inside ready to pounce as soon as I put my head over it, but no such luck. Whatever critter that calls this his (or her) home wasn't around. Whew!!!!! To live another day.
