Here is another shot from yesterday's walk on the Chehalis Western Trail. Whenever you see a hollowed out stump like this one you know you have to go look inside. Of course I was elected to go see what scary thing might be inside ready to pounce as soon as I put my head over it, but no such luck. Whatever critter that calls this his (or her) home wasn't around. Whew!!!!! To live another day.

Oh, boy. I'm glad nothing reared its ugly head, for real.
No kidding. I can still run pretty fast though.
It is neat how nature covers up her tastes. In time this stump will be history.
You are braver than me! This is a pretty shot. I like the ferns!
Thank you. Lots of fern. The trillium were in full bloom also.
Next time you might have to camp there for the night to tell us what IS living in there! The suspense is thrilling! Very nice mossy, ferny and "firy" shot.
