You might remember this previous post from our oldest daughter's last high school band concert. Believe it or not, my wife and I really enjoy going to these. There really are some talented kids there. Tonight was the Christmas (or winter if you prefer) concert for Jazz Band, Symphonic Band & Orchestra. Some of the songs carried the holiday theme, but they also played other non-seasonal songs. They led off with a wonderful version of "Fly Me To The Moon" as well as a fun upbeat song called "Goomba Boomba." Another concert well worth attending.
No Santa, don't go just yet!!! It's not time.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing what the music or band teachers can pull out of some kids. Even the elementary bands sound pretty good.
Three of my four daughters played in band. One played clarinet one played flute and one the French Horn. but they stopped before High school and that was the end of it. MB
He's busy, it's a miracle at this time of year that he actually stopped by!
ReplyDeleteMagical photo!
How wonderful! With the right director, a high school band can become highly skilled!
ReplyDeleteThis photo is priceless, and you've got the perfect caption! Perhaps the high school would frame it and hang it!
i was in band, and enjoy listening to them as well... i think maybe santa is being held captive by a local neighbor in their upstairs room - i'm going to try and get a pic of it this weekend =)
ReplyDeleteSmall City Scenes: This band teacher really seems to have a pretty good connection with the kids. It really looks like they're having a good time.
ReplyDeletecieldequimper: No kidding. With a schedule like his, WHEW!
Jacob: How right you are, and again...Thank you.
brian stout: Can't wait to see it!
There's nothing like music to feed us the good endorphins. This is a great photo evoking the feeling of a concert. It leaves the players to our imaginations. I love it!
ReplyDeleteThe movie I returned was "Just the Ticket," not so good, but entertaining fluff if you need a break from work. Or thinking. I'll watch almost anything except in certain genres.
Will he now have to deliver presents without his hat?!
