Aren't Wood Ducks so beautiful. All those colors just perfectly placed. I have only seen one Wood Duck at my pond--even. But I don't look all the time so I hope they stop over occasionally.

Wilderness-challenged me thought it was a wooden duck. Duh. But you have to give me a little leeway – his colors are so fantastic, they look like they're painted on!

This duck seemed about as relaxed as can be with us a few feet away. He was swimming with a Canadian Goose and they seemed like long lost buddies.
