Wooden Boat Fair

Saturday, May 8, 2010

Well, here it is Mother's Day weekend and time once again for The Olympia Wooden Boat Fair, an annual event. Wooden boats of all types and sizes, some old some new. Besides the boats tents line the boardwalk, vendors selling their goods. Today a local high school band entertained the crowd with some really good music. I'll show you more from the fair over the next couple of days. Oh, and if you look way at the far end, just over the tents you'll see the jets of water from this fountain hanging in mid air.

PS: Everyone from our house wants to send out a big Happy Mother's Day to all you Moms. We hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow.

  1. I love wooden boats, so I would have enjoyed this a lot! I also like how you can see the city in the background, I imagine that's the capitol up there.

That's a lovely view of the boats, the sky, the dome, and the water fountain! Looks terrific when you enlarge it.

I would have enjoyed this a lot! Love wooden boats. I grew up with Chris Craft cabin cruisers and still think they're the most beautiful things on the water!

    Nicely-composed photo, Don.

And a Happy Mother's Day to Krise!
