Alle Meine Entchen

Sunday, June 20, 2010

Which translated means, all my ducklings. Hi everyone. No we haven't fallen off the face of the earth, and no we don't have a new baby yet either. Krise's due date is still July 13th so that calculates to about 23 days to go. We're getting pretty excited, and she's feeling pretty ready. Also, Happy Father's Day to all the dads. I hope you all had a wonderful day. After opening a couple of very nice gifts we went out for breakfast. Evidently a few thousand others had the same idea but that's okay. I wasn't going to let a little wait bum me out. After breakfast we went to a local park to take a walk. No, I'm not trying to wear my wife out, in fact she's happy walking as long as it's at an easy pace. While we were walking around the lake there were lots of ducks. As you can see in this shot, our oldest daughter talked a few of them into a cell phone photo-op.
Again, Happy Father's Day. I'll do my best to post when I can as well as helping the wife prepare the nest.

Last Concert of the Year

Thursday, May 27, 2010

Well, I'm posting this later than I had planned, but tonight was our oldest daughter's last high school concert of this school year. Each concert so far had really been good and tonight was no exception. My favorite was an old Tower of Power hit performed by the jazz band called "What is Hip?" What do you mean you don't remember it?

Time for a Break

Friday, May 14, 2010

Another shot taken this past Sunday, (Mother's Day) on our walk around Capitol Lake. How perfect is this? Our youngest daughter and our French Bulldog Otis were ready for a rest at the same time. Why not share a shady spot with your best friend?

Have a great weekend!

Smile Santa

Monday, December 14, 2009

A couple of days ago I showed you this photo of Santa's backside and the top of our youngest daughter's head. I had a request to try a little harder and post a better shot of the two of them. So, if you can put up with the frosty breath on the left of this photo here's a better shot of the two of them.

Ruby Tuesday - Lakewood Fire Dept

Tuesday, December 8, 2009

This past Sunday, after we left the beauty of the conservatory and all those flowers we took a drive to Fort Steilacoom Park in Lakewood. If the name sounds slightly familiar it's because I've posted a couple of photos from there such as this one from the dog park there, or this one showing part of the old mental hospital. This time we were simply taking a drive there but once our seven year old daughter saw the playground she wanted to stop, and you know it didn't make any difference that it was thirty some degrees with the wind blowing like crazy. We parked and watched her run off to climb and slide and just about anything else you could do at a playground. This really is a wonderful place. Click here to see who designed it.

OMG!! Tonight's The Night!

Thursday, November 19, 2009

Well, here we go again. I had another photo in mind for tonight's post, but "guess who" somehow persuaded.....er.....threatened me into showing off one her early birthday presents. Our oldest daughter is going to be 15 this coming Sunday, and like many girls her age couldn't wait for the Twilight movie "New Moon" to come out. Little did she know that her conniving parents (and a good friend) conspired and purchased her ticket months ago. We managed to say nothing until a few hours before she was to go. She then proceeded to make all sorts of teenage girly squeely noises. She complained of rapid heart beat and breathing difficulties. She even had to stop eating her dinner she was so nervous. She was though, very very happy. One more thing you have to understand. The movie starts at midnight and she does have school tomorrow. (heh-heh). You know, I'll bet that doesn't really matter to her though. She was very appreciative. Anyway, Mom and I hope she has a wonderful time at the movie.

And, for you closet fans.....she's "Team Edward", because Jacob doesn't sparkle!

I'll Take This One

Saturday, October 10, 2009

Backing up just a little, here's our youngest daughter selecting "just the right" pumpkin. Of course, about five minutes later she went about fifty yards from this spot and picked out another "just right" pumpkin to replace the first one. How many of you parents have had the identical experience?

What About Me?

Monday, September 21, 2009

In yesterday's post I showed you not only a beautiful sunset to witness, but our youngest daughter taking time for "Just one more time pleeeeease." Well, usually it's the younger sister wanting to know why big sis gets to do things or go places she doesn't. Not this time. When our oldest daughter saw yesterday's photo I think the green monster started to rear it's ugly head. So, here she is in her blogging debut, and in all her glory, the star of my Monochrome Weekly.
