Another frosty morning with a little fog thrown in for good measure. Rather than take the freeway, some mornings I take the back way to work. The drive is a little slower and I get to go across Black Lake. With the fog and the colors of the sky it looked like a water color.

Sometimes the back roads lead to a better place!
One has to embiggen this photo to get the full impact, which is "Wow!" Nicely done, my friend. It is like a painting -- the fog and the muted pastel colors - wonderful photograph!
It does! So beautiful and peaceful.
If I had to pass anywhere this scenic on my way to work, I'll end up not going to work at all.
WOW!!! is right. super picture. It does look like a painting and why we always say that when of course the real thing should be better.
We haven't had any fog up this way but looking across the valley I can see some. MB
Love the cormoran on his rock, waiting for the sun to come out probably. Quiet, peaceful.
Beautiful shot! Has such an ethereal quality to it. I'm a Washington resident also (Vancouver) and just started following your blog. Look forward to your posts. I have a daily blog as well.
Beautiful! I'm glad you took the back road and shared this fabulous photo!
Jacob: Thank you very much. I do appreciate that.
Hilda: I know what you mean. I could have gone all around the lake that morning taking photos.
Small City Scenes: You make a good point. I'll get out the fan and blow some of our fog up your way.
Rob and Mandy: I was pretty sure it was a Cormorant. He had just finished raising up and flapping his wings a few times.
Yolanda: Thank you so much for stopping by. You're just a little south of us. I hopped over and checked out your blog. Very nice.
~Cheryl: Thank you too Cheryl. Yep, the road less traveled.
A beautiful scene. Now I cannot wait for the snow and the frost to come to us here in South-West Germany.
Gorgeous! I would be tempted to go that way every morning.
Wow--we performed at Black Lake conference center a few years back.
I love this photo--it is so soft and dreamy. It fills my eyes--which is the greatest compliment I can give.
Wonderful beautiful.
YES! this kicks butt!
