Remember Whensday - Shutterbug

Wednesday, December 16, 2009

As I was looking back through some old photos this evening trying to decide which one to post this one caught my eye. Number one, for it's age it's still in pretty fair shape (ahem...like someone I know), and number two, I noticed it's another old photo of me holding a camera. If you look close you can tell it's an old box camera. The man in the photo is my Uncle Bob and you can see my dad's Packard in the background. I believe I was about five when this was taken in Spokane Washington, my home town.

For more nostalgic photos take a trip over to Remember Whensday.

  1. I love these old photos--not that you are old and you are not compared to me. But look at those cars---now they are old. LOL MB

Yeah that mountain is a beaut no doubt. MB

Great old photos. I love the haircuts, I love the suits, I love the gleaming chrome of cars.

Jusst look at the creases and cuffs on those pants. Wow. A real dude!!

The Packard is sitting next to a fine old Hudson...a Hornet? And the car in the front right is a big Buick Roadmaster maybe.

Really fun to see a photo like this. Keep finding them (it may make others of us attempt the same thing on Whensdays)

Great photo, Don! I've got a similar one of Karl's dad at about that age. They are some of my favorites!

Thanks for posting in this week's Remember Whensday meme.

The good old days! That looks about the time I graduated from high school.

It's nice to know that some child shutterbugs grow up to be adult shutterbugs.

This reeks of nostalgia and I love it!

  10. Thanks everyone. I mean it. Your kind comments are greatly appreciated. Also, I'm hoping it will encourage a few of you to do the same. I think nostalgic shots are a lot of fun.

  11. There's TWO Packards in that picture - there's the four door in the background behind the Buick and next to the Nash - but the car on the left is a Packard 200 two door!

    («Louis» LOVES Packards!
