Shift Change

As I mentioned in yesterday's post my wife, my mother and I visited the town of Steilacoom on Monday. After stopping by an old style ice cream shop we headed down the hill to the ferry dock. There's a nice foot traffic dock that stretches out over the water. That is where I took this shot. There's also a nice paved walking path that runs along the water. The shot I chose today is of The Neil Henley, a ferry that runs between McNeil Island Corrections Center (seen in the distance) and Steilacoom. By the looks of it there were both employees and visitors aboard. There were an equal amount of people waiting to get on the ferry to head back to McNeil.
I would been happier if this shot was a little more clear, but it was grey and overcast.

It's a beautiful shot. The water in the foreground looks like black ink! Love the shot below...great curves. What a cool name, too...Steilacoom. I'll have to look it up.

Gray and overcast... you captured the PacNW perfectly! :) The water is beautiful and makes a nice reflection of the ferry.

  3. Great shot--I'd say perfect. Love the reflection.

My late husband retired from the Dept. of Corrections--spent it at the Monroe Complex. He had a chance to transfer to McNeil and flat out said NO!. No questions asked here. MB

Nice shot of the ferry! I haven't ridden on one since I was a kid.
