No, this is not a rare sighting of the Washington State Bird. This is Sluggo. While we were on our walk yesterday talking to people, taking pictures, stopping to sit on a park bench and just enjoy the day, this fellow was having no part of the hurry-up life. He managed to meander a whopping 10 feet or so. That seemed to be about all the exercise he could handle. I tried to get close once and he made an aggressive move so we just went on about our business.

What a hoot! Y'all are something else! I have never seen a slug this color. Wow!
Yes, I'm continuing with this particular walk another day or two. Thanks for your visit.
I have to wonder what kind of aggressive move he made!
Lynette: You've gotta have a little fun with it.
Shadow: A very subtle one.
I've seen them become pretty violent. They WILL slime you so be careful. I'd stay my distance. MB
Probably very wise of you to keep your distance.
You've just made me laugh so hard, I really needed it after a bad day at work!
Glad you all enjoyed it. You can't be serious all the time.
I've also never seen a brown slug, but for some reason I always enjoy seeing the greenish ones. As a teenager I saw one in Vancouver, BC or nearby, then I hadn't seen another until I moved to Oregon. I don't know why, but they just seem special to me - they are indicative of this beatiful part of the world (in my experience) and they just dawdle along not bothering anyone. Unless they make an "aggressive move," that is :)
