Looking South

Thursday, September 17, 2009
As promised (under duress I might add) here is the view looking south from the Capitol Boulevard overpass in living daylight! A couple of things I thought I would add to give you some sort of perspective. First of all I left the photo large to make it easier to pick things out. If you'll notice the red arrow to the left of the freeway it points to the spot we were standing for last night's photo. Also for those of you that have been so kind as to follow this blog for a while you might recognize the brick building on the far left as the old Olympia Brewery. Anyway, I hope that by shooting this in the daylight it gives you a view of entering the Olympia-Tumwater area going south on Interstate 5. Thank you for riding along, and you may return your seats to the upright position.

I've driven this stretch of freeway many times, so it's nice to see if from a different perspective. Looks like the trees are starting to change color already. It's still hot here...Enjoy the weekend and thanks for visiting my blog. I always enjoy hearing from you and visiting yours...

Super series, y'all. I like this sort of detail and insight into the city/area you live in and are so proud of. Thanks!

About the photo in my post yesterday, it has sold. I'm thinking about printing it for myself, too.

I forgot to say that I've got my Floral Friday ready to go in the morning! Thanks!

  5. Linnea: You're familiar with this road huh? That's pretty cool. We thank you for stopping by also. I'll be over to see what you have in store for us.

Day4plus: Thank you for the support. It's much appreciated. Krise sends a smile your way.

I'm starting to get the perspective. But, do I have to put up my tray table?

Funny! You mean I have to lay down to see your blog properly? ;-)

I was going to say that this photo is just as beautiful as the night shot!

You do live in a gorgeous community!

Both shots are great! It looks like you took both of your pictures at times when there was a lull in the traffic too.

  11. AB Says:

And I recognise a brewery there! I seem to be getting to know Olympia.

  12. B SQUARED: No, you might spill your drink. ;-)

    Unseen: Thank you!

Marie: No problem. Thanks for stopping by here.

Jacob: Thank you. They have actually worked pretty hard in the area you see here. There are two parks down to the left, and around the bend to the right is the lake that is fed by Tumwater Falls.

Lois: I was surprised how light traffic was too. I'm guessing it's only because I wasn't down there with them.

    AB: Good for you!
