Somehow I don't think Grey Poupon was the first thing on their minds. Recently while we were driving through the "Five Mile Drive" in Pt Defiance Park in Tacoma we noticed two or three different raccoon families. They were not shy either. The first group came right up to the truck expecting us to hand over whatever it was they thought we had. A little farther along we ran into this "hold up gang" eyeballing us as we slowly drove by. The one on the left wasn't standing up until we got right beside her and stopped. Look at her front paws. I'm positive she was motioning us to "Stop the car, right there!" Look closely, her back up is in the brush to the right. We didn't stick around and negotiate.

That's sooo cute! Raccoons have such fantastic face markings — I would love to see a real one someday.
Do you think you could pick them out in a line-up?
They are adorable! I have lots of raccoons that come around my house at night. They like to taunt my cat through the back door glass. Every once in awhile they will find a rabid raccoon around here, so I try to keep my distance!
Great shots of real rascals! They are so damn sneaky and capable. Fortunately, we haven't had any here, but when we lived in Pennsylvania they'd come up a very steep and long set of back steps, undo the garbage can lid (no matter how I tied it down) and leave a horrendous mess all over. Even in the winter and the snow and ice!
Cute, though.
Super photo!
She's got her posse coming up from behind too. Good thing you didn't stick around, they look like a shifty bunch.
This is amazing! I love raccoons, and we do have them here, but they run. They don't greet you like Ma and Pa on the front porch! Yikes! I'll bet they get a lot of junk food this way, which I hate to see happening. I've seen deer behave like this, and I know that bears do, but I've never seen raccoons get a piece of the action. In any case, I love the photo.
Like I said, this was the second group to hit us up. They are cute, and sly as can be.
Thanks everyone and have a wonderful holiday weekend!
Cute highwaymen or should I say highwayfamily?!
very cool shot! i see another head back there in the bushes too =)
The little beggers! They just stare at you hoping they'll wear you down with those beady little eyes.
Good thing the "right to bear arms" does not extend to racoons!
Varmints!!
They are so cute from a distance. I have a family of coons living in the storm drain pipe in our yard. They like to come out and visit the front doorstep some mornings. Then, they become very uncute...terrifying mostly to open the door to leave and find them hanging out on the porch.
H ha, what a guy!
