Taken this past Sunday (Mother's Day), these little fellas were just two of nine babies with their mama down at Capitol Lake.

On Watery Wednesday I thought I'd share with you another shot from The McLane Creek Nature Trail. I wonder if this tree is home to any gnomes?

The past couple of days I've shown you a couple of views of the town of Steilacoom, which is about half an hour north of Olympia. While we were there this past Monday I spotted these two characters just takin' it easy. I'm guessing they're paid lookouts for the seagulls. Notice the train tracks running along the water and the young fellow sitting on the rocks relaxing. This is a popular spot to do just that and our contribution to Watery Wednesday.

A quick stop at Capitol Lake on the way home. My wife and I stepped out onto the dock and thought this view was worth capturing.

My wife spotted this cute as heck fountain quite some time back, but I just today managed to photograph it. It's sort of tucked in between a couple of buildings in a small courtyard at the Washington State Department of Health. There are three of these handsome fellows hanging around the pool.

As you can tell from various previous posts such as
here and
here, The Seymour Conservatory in Tacoma is one of our favorite places to go every couple of months or so. The theme and flowers change about that often and it is always a great place to photograph. One area that doesn't change is the fish pond. It's been there for many years. It's just one more thing that makes the Conservatory such a relaxing place.

Not your typical Watery Wednesday photo? Well, we couldn't pass this one up. My wife and I found this tile (part of a much larger tiled wall) while walking through downtown Olympia. It may be a bit corny for Watery Wednesday but it is my wife's favorite seafood (which she can't even eat right now while pregnant). Boy, talk about some fish lips!

For Watery Wednesday this was our view out the upper level of The Athenian restaurant while visiting

Another foggy shot, this time across Black Lake. See how the sun reflects off the windows of the home on the hill? How would you like to have that view?

After work I had to run downtown for something. Since I was only a few blocks from Budd Inlet I thought I'd stop by and take a few shots of the boats with their Christmas lights aglow. I got lucky. The boats were lit up and slowly cruising the waters in parade style. Not all of my photos came out. This was one of the better ones. I definitely need some practice when it comes to settings at night. I think this qualifies as my Watery Wednesday shot.

Last night I posted
this photo, a southbound view of Interstate 5 through Olympia. Well that raised road on the left is I-5, and the bridge at the far end is the one I stood on last night. I know I promised to duplicate last night's shot in the daylight and I still intend to do that. This shot was taken from Tumwater Historical Park and is our contribution to Watery Wednesday.

This waterfall is just inside the entrance to Pt Defiance Park in Tacoma. This was taken this past Sunday. We went to the park to see the magnificent dahlias and roses. I'll be posting a couple of those shots in the near future, but this one seemed just right for
Watery Wednesday.

About a half hour north of Olympia sits the city of Lakewood where I grew up. Actually at the far end of this lake right about in the middle of the photo. This photo was taken from the bridge that crosses the lake. You'll learn a little more about the lake and see the bridge pictured
here. As a kid, I boated, rafted, swam and fished this lake, usually with my best friend John. We would pack a lunch and raft from home to the bridge where we'd tie up. Then we'd put on our masks and go diving to see all the treasure that had been thrown off the bridge. Old appliances, stolen bicycles, you name it. As for this shot, it's a trip down memory lane, and our contribution to Watery Wednesday.

After a record tying 104 degrees today here in Olympia for some odd reason we thought it best to go out for dinner rather than adding to the problem by cooking at home. Before dinner though we decided to take the short drive to
Millersylvania State Park in Tumwater. Not only was it a peaceful drive, but this photo of Deep Lake seemed like the perfect opportunity to capture our contribution to Watery Wednesday.
P.S. My wife double dog dared me on the title. Always stirrin' the pot.
