Mother Ship?

No, not hardly. In yesterday's post about the Mima Mounds NAP I mentioned this interpretive center slash lookout platform. The trail fork at the bottom of the photo is the start of the trail. The aluminum box on the post has informational flyers inside.

Excellent...the b&w makes for a unique and very different photo from yesterday. Can't say it's a flying saucer, though, as it would be upside down...

Maybe it goes up a ways, flips over and the soars off into the stratosphere?

  4. Jacob: Remember the coneheads? Well maybe this is the domeheads.

brian: It actually is pretty cool. A number of informative signs under cover as you can sort of see in the photo. If it takes off across the field can I put our seven year old on it?

Lois: Thank you very much. That was the intention. :)

  5. So crisp! It appears that they are making a duck blind for the mound aliens.

I guess the idea was to make a shape that echoed the mounds. Good mono subject.

A very remote and lonely spot, made all the more mysterious by the mono approach.

I guess it must have been extra-terrestrial moles the made the mounds.
