This "Night Depository" drum is attached to one of downtown Olympia's historic buildings, The Security Building. Click here for a brief history. I think you'll find it interesting.

  1. Chuck Pefley Says:

I hope you had an armed escort when you made your drop here -:)

  2. Jacob Says:

Oh, the good old days. The Security Building reminds me a lot of the buildings in Minneapolis during the 1950s... some of which I worked in while in high school.

I guess we still have "night depositories" now, we just call them ATM's.

  3. Lois Says:

That was an interesting read. It certainly does have a strong foundation!

  4. haidee Says:

This is very informative for me, I wish I can find an old night depository here in Portland (if there is). Thanks for sharing!

  5. There are some stories I can't tell about the things that the local bank where we used to live found at the bottom of these on some mornings.

I have felt good but am still on medicine and began working on

  6. Hilda Says:

The predecessor of the ATM deposits. Cool!

  7. tapirgal Says:

I love this old depository. I think you should do some more pix of the building. I enjoyed reading the info, but their pictures are not clickable, which I always find irritating on small photos. It seems they need your help!

  8. Great shot of the night drop and interesting info on the building. MB
