Staghorn Sumac at Capitol Lake. Taken about twenty feet from where I took yesterday's photo. I hope everyone had a great weekend.

beautiful. i love this shot, with the background and everything! amazing!
That's stunning. I've sure been enjoying these colors this weekend, and I'm glad to know the name of that bush!
The Sumacs have been glowing this year. Neat capture. MB
Fabulous color! And a perfect frame for the dreamy image in the background. This is such a romantic photo, Don. Love it.
Nicely done, Don...the sumac makes a relatively ordinary picture into a vital and exciting one!
And yes, I've found I'm almost always sorry if I go out without my camera!
Have a nice day!
That is a lovely shot!
The essence of autumn, a lovely photo!
We had magnificent weather for the weekend. And today, Monday, after my birthday yesterday, and before Pat's tomorrow, we are having another grand day and it was more than enough to force me outside without oxygen to dig some stuff up, transplant a couple of sprouts, and trim off some grass. What a nice fall day. It is almost as nice as you had the day you took the photo of the sumac. Nice picture.
Thanks everyone, I do appreciate it.
Abe: It's good to hear you were able to go out without being tethered to your oxygen. I know how hard it must be when you can't go out. I can't wait to hear what you are doing for Patty's birthday.
Thanks for the lichen lesson. I'm not going to change the post text. I'll just let people have fun with it :)
Superb depth of field. Beautifully exaggerated color contrast.
Simply beautiful!
Lake, autumn colours and the Capitol dome -- a very Olympic photo. And all the prettier for it.
Beautiful composition with the capitol dome and lake in the background. Nice how the distant trees also pick up the vibrant colors of the Sumac.
