Till We Meet Again

Saturday, October 17, 2009

Tonight's photo is one that my lovely wife requested I post. A couple of weeks ago when we went to the local Cider Mill, as we were heading back along the pumpkin patch we spotted this tiller taking a break. I'm guessing he's worked pretty hard lately and deserves some time off. Soon enough the pumpkins will be gone, the corn all sold and it will be time to get back to work again.

I like this photo and the story you've told to go along with it. Congrats on heeding your lovely wife's request.

Lamont gave Leland a slackline for his birthday. They both use it, though. I took loads of photos when I met them at the park week before last. On Oct. 13 I posted photos of Leland on it.

Oh goodness, I'm showing just how much of a city person I am by saying that this is the first time I've seen a small tiller like this (I always though they were all huge things) and that I'm not exactly sure what they do (even the concept of tilling is fuzzy to me). I like the story though! :)

  3. She was right! It's a gorgeous photo.
If you want more information about Quimper pottery, I've posted it in a comment under today's photo.

I am sort of surprised the tiller was just there. It is one of those expensive ones that I always wanted but never got.

That tiller looks like new...I wonder if it's been used much.

It never ends here. Although during the winter I only have to cut the grass about once a month...

I've learned, though, to run all the machinery occasionally - otherwise they sort of fade away...

    This is an excellent photo!

Time to park the tiller and tune up the snow blower. Tis the season.

  7. Thank you all!

Lynette: Heeding my wife's requests is always a smart thing.

Hilda: You city girl you. Tillers this size are pretty common here. As large as this farm is I'm sure they have an industrial sized one too. This one must be for the smaller sections.

ciel: Thank you very much. That pottery is beautiful.

Abe: A rear-tine model too. Nice.

Jacob: I must be like your old machinery. I have to keep going too, otherwise I get rusty.

gogouci: Snow blower, PLEASE, NOT YET!

Bright red in luscious green makes for a good photo

  9. That is quite a neat picture. the colors are great--red and green and then the sopt of orange. Yep! The work is never ever all the way done. MB
